In addition, certain CHKRC-associated organizations such as California After School Resource Center have their own privacy statements which can be viewed by clicking on the link.

- When you register we ask for information such as your name, address, e-mail address, zip code, phone numbers, occupation, position, and supervisor. Once you register with CHKRC you are not anonymous to us.
- CHKRC also collects information about your library transactions with us.
- CHKRC uses information for the following general purposes: to fulfill your requests for library materials and services, customize the E-Updates you receive from us, improve our services, contact you, conduct research, and provide anonymous aggregated reports to funders.
How We Use and Share Personal Information
Back to Top
- CHKRC will have access to any information you provide. We share your personal information with third parties that perform services for us or on our behalf (for example, our Web site provider, companies that print and ship our catalogs and library materials) and when, in our judgment, we believe it is necessary or appropriate to prevent fraud, injury, or harm to persons or property, to protect our rights or the rights of others, to comply with applicable laws and regulations, or as otherwise required by law. We limit the scope of the information provided to third parties, and we allow its use only for the purposes for which it was disclosed.
- CHKRC uses the personal information we collect to process your library orders, identify you within our systems, contact you if we have questions about your order, notify you about new services, and to invite you to apply to serve on advisory and review boards and special promotional programs.
- CHKRC does not rent, sell, or share personal information about you with other people or nonaffiliated companies except to provide products or services you’ve requested, when we have your permission, or under the following circumstances:
- We may respond to subpoenas, court orders, or legal process, or to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims;
- We believe it is necessary to share information in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of CHKRC terms of use, or as otherwise required by law.
